MEdIES participated to the second 3-day intensive regional training workshop on ESD, of RUCAS project.
The training was coorganised by the Universities of Crete, Heliopolis and Suez Canal and hosted in the Sekem farm at the outskirts of Cairo, Egypt, on 7 - 9 January 2012.
MEdIES Officer, Iro Alampei represented also the University of Athens, as the aim of the meeting was to re-orient the Syllabi of the partner Universities towards sustainablility. During the workshop two syllabi of the UoA (department of Chemistry) were re-visited, namely
(1)the Course Syllabus: CHEMISTRY and MANGEMENT of AQUATIC ECOSYSTEMS, Dpt of Chemisttry, 8th Semester. Find the outcome -revisited description here

(2)the Course Syllabus of the inter-university post Graduate Pogramme CHEMICAL EDUCATION and NEW EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGIES. (1st Semester) Find the outcome -revisited description here
During the meeting the focus group, comprisedof academicians from all partner Universities revisited the syllabi and made useful comments as to how to incorporate ESD in a more substantial way. The revised syllabi are going to be implemented in spring semester 2012 onwards.
