    The UNESCO Secretariat of the Decade of Education for Sustainable Development invites you to participate in the new collection of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) Good Practices in Addressing Climate Change

    Intended use

    While the main aim of the collection is to provide for an exchange of experiences among stakeholders, its other envisaged uses include:
    - resource materials in the preparation of different ESD progress reports;
    - input to provide examples of practice for the DESD website;
    - input into related international events, including several UNESCO and UN events on education and climate

    Deadline
    30 June 2010

    Practical issues
    Scope
    1. Each stakeholder or organization can send a maximum of 3 good practices indicating the priority 1, 2 or 3 (only selected good practices will be included in the compilation to be published, while relevant ones will be posted on the website). 2. Good practices should be about addressing climate change issues through ESD. 3. The use of indigenous, traditional and local knowledge can be either a valuable component of a good practice submitted or be submitted as a separate good practice, e.g. how this is used to promote ESD in light of climate change.

    Deadline
    In order to enable the inclusion of the selected good practices in the document to be published, the deadline for submission of completed templates is 30 June 2010 at the latest. Templates should be sent electronically to the following e-mail address:
    esddecade@unesco.org
    with subject: ESD Good Practices – Climate Change.

    Language
    The completed templates can be submitted in English or French. Please make sure that the text is properly edited prior to the submission. Guidance and template
    You are kindly requested to complete the templates in accordance with the provided guidance. There will be no possibility to come back to you if the submitted template does not correspond to the requirements outlined in the guidance and we regret to let you know that for that reason your submission might not be included in the compilation. Furthermore, the selection of good practices to be published will take into account geographical balance.
